TRAIN TO BE A PSW IN THE LIVING CLASSROOM
NNDSB has partnered with Cassellholme in North Bay and Belvedere Heights in Parry Sound to provide Personal Support Worker training in a living classroom. Participants will do their theoretical learning in a classroom and then apply those skills on the floor of the long-term care home.
This program is open to Canadian Citizens and Canadian Residents only.
This opportunity is available to people aged 18 and older. Participants who do not have a Grade 12 diploma can earn up to six Ontario Secondary School Diploma credits while training to become a PSW. If you are interested, you can request an educational assessment by contacting Laurentian Learning Centre, 705-472-5419 Ext. 5995.

PSW Programs run twice yearly, pending enrolment, programs start in:
•  September start - intake in May to June - documents submitted June 1st
•  February start - intake in November to January - documents submitted January 1st

Once your registration form is submitted, you will receive information regarding a date to take your literacy test.
Step 3:
Complete a North Bay literacy assessment or
Bring evidence from the Checklist to Start to the literacy assessment.

Step 4:
Intake interview.
Following your literacy assessment, you will be required to follow up with the PSW Site Teacher to schedule an intake interview. You will be provided with that contact information following the completion of the literacy test.
Step 5:
Apply for a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check. Begin application at least 6 weeks before program start date.
